Update Rohyamar
First things first: you put a call through to the ambassador. A spark of frustration flares as Counselor Sherrik’s face appears before you. Not this asshole.
“Yes, how can I help you, Specialist?” he says, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.
“I need to speak with Rohyamar.”
“The ambassador is busy at the moment. But I can give her a message.”
You resist the urge to grit your teeth. “Look, Counselor, I just got attacked by three people in the cargo hold. They shot me with a blaster, which means they’ve broken the no-weapons ban. The station mind is likely to get involved, and I don’t think any of us want it pissed off. I need to talk with the ambassador, and I need to talk with her now. If I have to come over there, I will, but you’re not going to like it. So unless you want to be responsible for an even bigger diplomatic incident than we have now, put the goddamn ambassador on the goddamn line.”
Sherrik’s face twists with what you think is contempt, and he’s about to answer when Rohyamar appears in the other half of the screen. “I’ll take this, Counselor,” she says, her tone calm but steely.
In an instant, Sherrik’s expression goes blank. He nods in an accommodating manner. “Of course, ambassador. If I can help, just let me know.” And he drops out.
Rohyamar focuses on you. “What’s going on, Specialist? Cortez hasn’t been able to give me many details.”
With clipped urgency you tell her what happened in the hold. “We need to shut down the docks,” you say. “No ships in or out until we find who’s responsible. Same goes for the Jellies, if you can swing it.”
She nods. “No promises, but I’ll see what I can do. What a mess.”
“That it is, Ma’am.”
“Alright, go after them. If anyone tries to get off the station, I’ll let you know.”
“Ma’am.”
