Jennifer Hale Fractal Noise
Well versed in the art of game acting, Jennifer describes the complexities of reading for audiobooks in this clip.
Jennifer explains that while game acting and audiobook narration are completely different, they have a couple huge similarities—the stamina and focus required. But unlike animation or game acting, audiobooks are a one-person show and the narrator is responsible for not only voicing the narration and diverse characters, but also for shepherding readers through the story. This is in addition to the technical intensity of the recording process.
Jennifer navigated these challenges beautifully. And she graces listeners with a song or two as well in the book!

Jennifer Hale Fractal Noise
Haven’t heard what Fractal Noise is about yet? Set twenty-three years before the events in To Sleep in a Sea of Stars, Fractal Noise is a sci-fi thriller that tells the story of humanity’s first discovery of alien intelligence. A stellar survey team in the mid-2030s discovers an anomaly on a seemingly uninhabited planet. A pit 50 kilometer wide and most certainly not of natural origin. How did it get there? And who, or what, built it? A small team must land and journey on foot across alien terrain to find out. Each step they take toward the mysterious abyss is more punishing than the last. And the ghosts of their past follow.
